The Pac-12 Conference released a joint statement from its continuing members expressing confidence in “consummating” a media rights deal in the “near future.” The board is made up of the 10 continuing universities in the conference (aside from UCLA and USC, which will join the Big Ten in 2024.  The conference said in a statement released on Twitter: “The 10 Pac-12 universities look forward to consummating successful media rights deals in the very near future  Based upon positive conversations with multiple potential media rights partners over the past weeks, we remain highly confident in our future growth and success as a conference and united in our commitment to one another.”

The statement comes after attention has been centered around the Pac-12’s ongoing media rights negotiations and its pursuit of San Diego State and SMU.  The Pac-12 has “focused its efforts on evaluating” both schools to see if both are feasible for expansion, similar to what the Big 12 did several years ago before inviting UCF, Houston, Cincinnati and BYU to join.
