On Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 3:34 p.m. the Greenfield Police Department received a report from a concerned citizen of a possible drug transaction taking place in the area of Fourth and Lafayette Sts. An officer responded and located the male suspect walking about a block away on Jefferson St. When the officer attempted to stop the suspect for questioning, the suspect refused to stop and attempted to enter a home at the corner of Fifth and Jefferson Sts. The officer was able to apprehend the suspect inside the doorway of the home and identified him as Richard “Wes” Wilson, 24, Greenfield. Wilson was found to be in possession of a large plastic baggie containing over 60 grams of marijuana, a set of digital scales, and several hundred dollars in cash. Wilson was arrested and charged with Trafficking in drugs in the vicinity of a school, a fourth degree felony, and tampering with evidence, a third degree felony. He was taken to the Greenfield City Jail in lieu of $250,000.00 bond and will appear for arraignment in Highland County Court, Greenfield, on Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 9:33 p.m. the Greenfield Police Department received a report of subjects acting suspiciously around the Super Wash car wash, 101 N. Eleventh St. Officers responded and observed one male inside a wash bay using a pry bar on the coin machine that operates the wash. Two other males were observed nearby acting as lookouts. All three males ran when confronted and officers gave chase. When officers caught the male with the pry bar, identified as Scott D. Snyder, 27, Greenfield, he turned and attempted to strike them with the pry bar. He was disarmed and subdued by officers. After securing Snyder, officers then continued chasing the other two males and located them nearby. They were identified as Chance L. Miteff, 24, Washington C.H., and Jacob Grover-Pollard, 18, Washington C.H. All three were taken to the Greenfield City Jail where Snyder was charged with tampering with a coin machine, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, possession of criminal tools, vandalism, and assault on a peace officer. Miteff was charged with tampering with a coin machine, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, possession of criminal tools, vandalism, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Grove-Pollard was charged with tampering with a coin machine, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, possession of criminal tools, and vandalism. All three will appear for arraignment in Highland County Court, Greenfield, on Wednesday morning.
